The HUP xc is a lightweight MTB hardtail for cross-country racing, trail smashing or adventure fun times. Born and raised at the UCI MTB World Champs in Glentress, Scotland in 2023, it's a double-butted 7005 frame with boost thru-axles and progressive cross-country trail geometry. A rocketship of a bike for riders of all ages, whatever the terrain.

  • Progressive Geo: low standover, slack 67º fork, short stays and 100mm or 120mm forks
  • Full Size Wheels: 27.5" (13") or 29er (15", 17" & 19") running up to 2.4" tyres
  • Lightweight: strong, double-butted 7005 Aluminium, UDH hanger, in 4 sizes and as light as 9.5kg bikes
  • Custom Components: custom length cranks, droppers, big gearing, hydraulic brakes
  • Quality Throughout: only top brands including SRAM, FSA, Jagwire, Fulcrum, Rockshox, Manitou, Tekro & KMC
  • Build Flexibility: built bikes, self-build bundles (with or without wheels/fork), frame or the kids 20"/24" versions

Lightweight for the climbs, but still capable of the technical descents, as found on modern cross-country race courses and bike park trails.  The low standover/low stack gives riders the space to move on the techy sections and keeps their shoulders down on the faster sections.

Big wheels, latest progressive geometry (short chainstays, 67 degree fork angle) and correct fitting components create an agile, responsive and seriously fun bike. The squad has had a riot testing and developing the HUP xc in the Glentress forest, near Peebles. Fast and flowing, tight and techy, steep and gnarly - it handles pretty much everything!

With 4 frame sizes covering riders from approx 125cm up to approx 185cm tall, the whole family are in for a treat. In the case of youth riders, you can move their components to a larger frame as they grow, just like all HUP bikes. Parents also benefit from component sharing, life is simple with everyone on the same size wheels (and the same mech hangers!) plus future upgrades much easier too.

A low maintenance design with full length outer (internally run) cabling (including the option to fit a dropper post) plus the latest standards such as Boost thru-axles, 2.4" tyre clearance and a tapered head tube - ensures future compatibility. SRAM's Universal Deraillieur Hanger (UDH) also brings the ease of a widely available hanger, plus the ability to fit the very latest AXS Transmission type groupsets. Full-power shifting on the flat-top chain is awesome, we love it.

Choose from Grey, White or Silver and 3 fork options - as a frame only, frame & fork kit, self-build bundle (with/without wheels) or built bike. Every detail has been addressed to make the HUP xc the most capable hardtail, without breaking the bank. Don't take our word for it, here are the freely available published weights;
